Lightweight construction, dynamics, design and comfort – that’s what the ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG stands for. The efficient thoroughbred special edition racer is limited to 100 models and perfectly combines high performance materials with refined chassis technology and a unique design. Development has incorporated the professional feedback of the AMG ROTWILD MTB Racing Team, preparing the bike for the most challenging mountain bike race circuits. Already during the early stages of development, the ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG proved its exceptional qualities by winning a Junior’s World Championship title.

After the full-suspension carbon mountain bike R.X45 AMG, the ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG is the second mountain bike presented by ROTWILD and Mercedes-AMG. With the new model, the sports car and performance brand of Mercedes-Benz and the internationally renowned high-end mountain bike manufacturer take their collaboration to the next level. The new high performance mountain bike is specifically developed for competitive racing. All components meet top-level demands and show a true racing pedigree. Peter Schlitt, CEO of ADP Engineering GmbH: “Just as AMG, we have paid very particular attention to the ride dynamics and fitted only the best technology for the ROTWILD GT S. As a result ride enjoyment lives up to expectations, even under the harshest of conditions." According to Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG: "The mixture of bike racing, an unmistakable design and German engineering expertise is the connecting link between AMG and ROTWILD. Our shared passion for high-performance products will continue to inspire our partnership in the future."

High-end on two wheels: The ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG
Thanks to new technologies, specifically developed by ROTWILD, and top-notch components, the ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG excels in every respect. The frame consequently follows principles of lightweight construction and dampening comfort. High-tech elements such as the Carbon Modul Monocoque Technology (MMT2) and die EPS Innermold Technology are employed to improve the performance of the High Modulus Carbon fibres used. The exact determination of frame stiffness by ROTWILD’s engineers runs precursor to the MMT2 production process in order to directly adjust the comfort level of the carbon frame. The precise regulation of fibre-orientation and wall thickness through EPS Innermold Technology helps directly influence the properties of the individual frame modules according to constructional and developmental demands. The result is superlight frame weight with maximum stiffness and ideal dampening qualities. The Formula 33 Factory fork combines low weight with high stiffness. Its adjustable compression and rebound contribute to a consistent ride comfort. This is supplemented by the Pro Tharsis Di2 handlebar and stem – also made of carbon – into which the XTR Di2 group is seamlessly integrated as well as the Crankbrothers Cobalt 11 29-inch carbon wheel-set with its unique design which keeps rotating masses at an absolute minimum. Positioning the mass close to the hub enables quick acceleration and deceleration.

The mountain bike is equipped Shimano XTR drive technology which is controlled via electronic shifting. The multi-shift-function enables shifting over a number of sprockets. The additional syncro-shift-mode makes the front derailleur shift automatically, thus rendering a designated shift-lever obsolete. This individually adjustable function guarantees efficient power transmission, short ergonomic range, tactile feedback as well as reliable, quick and smooth shifting.

Also developed with racing in mind: The brakes. At an overall weight of merely 267g, the hydraulic disc brake Formula AMG R1 Racing FCS is one of the lightest series production disc brakes on the market. The Feeling Control System (FCS) enables tool-free adjustment of the lever’s contact-point to suit the rider’s personal preference and ergonomic needs.

Inspired by AMG
For the ROTWILD GT S the idea “Inspired by AMG” is not only limited to technological standards, but also extends to the expressive design. The colour scheme displays a striking and contrastive Solarbeam as well as Carbon Black reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG GT. Every detail of the bike stands for sportiness and passion. The ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG will be introduced to the market in May 2015 together with an attractive, premium Riding Package. This contains everything a passionate mountain biker needs: From the transport bag to the setup suspension pump to the essential repair tools. Starting May, the handcrafted carbon bike will be available via the ROTWILD distribution channel at a price of 9,990 Euro.

About the collaboration Mercedes-AMG and ROTWILD
The intensive collaboration between the two high-performance brands Mercedes-AMG and ROTWILD started in 2013 with the full-suspension carbon bike R.X45 AMG, displaying a look reminiscent of the “Edition 1” of the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. 2014 saw the joint presentation of a professional mountain bike team. 2015 brought the introduction of the ROTWILD GT S inspired by AMG. The common ground for the co-operation between AMG and ROTWILD is always the combination of racing, unmistakable design and the art of German engineering.
